Victoria Tovey
I am Victoria Tovey. I am the very proud owner/operator of Slithy Toves. I am from an English medieval town called Newark on Trent and have been in New Zealand just shy of 30 years! I’ve been a chef, worked with British Airways, a distributor of snow machines, sales rep for various products/services, a cafe owner, a cleaner, but now I’m a mum, I manage a boutique hotel, I put out fires, I’m a brown belt in karate and I love to row on Lake Hayes.

I am Alena, originally from the Czech Republic. It seems that cleaning has been ingrained in me since childhood, as my parents often reminded me that neglecting my studies would lead to cleaning duties, haha! I studied general medicine, but my desire for travel and exploration was greater, so I headed to the other side of the world, and here I am! I’ve been here in New Zealand cleaning for over 5 years, and I LOOOOVE IT!
If I’m not cleaning, I’m likely riding my motorcycle, or biking, or out hiking somewhere.

Hello! My name is Thayrini. I’ve grown up in a very small city in the countryside of Brazil, so New Zealand is a big experience for me, fulfilling a lifelong dream. In my spare time, I enjoy hiking and practicing makrame.

Hi, I’m Martina, a traveler from the Czech Republic. I was missing fulfilling the last continent on my list – Oceania, so here I am in New Zealand. I’m a perfectionist by nature, and perhaps because of that, I find satisfaction in cleaning. Apart from cleaning, I love sports of all kinds – especially hiking, climbing, snowboarding, biking, wakeboarding and via ferratas.

Hi! My name is Terezie and I am originally from the Czech Republic. I studied at a university in the Czech Republic and had my future precisely planned. That all changed when I met my fiance in Türkiye and we started traveling around the world. We moved to Canada, where I worked as a Cleaning Supervisor, and there I realized that I actually didn’t know how to clean until then! Over time, I fell in love with cleaning and that’s why I decided to do cleaning on the other side of the planet as well!
My motto in life is: Always be a little kinder than necessary.

The first opportunity I had as a cleaner was at Slithy Toves, and every day I feel like I couldn’t be in a better place. Outside of work, I like to be among friends and enjoy every beautiful place in this country.

I’m Brazilian—yeah, I know, I look Japanese, and it often confuses people. I was born in Japan and lived there for over 10 years, and I also lived in Brazil for 10 years. Organization and cleanliness have always been a part of my routine and life. I really enjoy bringing my imaginative ideas down from the clouds and making them real with my feet on the ground. My main goal is to always stay open to new knowledge and opportunities. :))
